ELGIN, Illinois — Elgin Sweeper has announced the evolution of its new regenerative air pickup head, designed to deliver improved sweeping performance with the serviceability advantages customers expect from RegenX. The new pickup head is a single design compatible with both the Crosswind and RegenX platforms, simplifying parts, installation, and fleet support.
“This update reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement,” said Noah Baran, Elgin Sweeper Product Manager. “We are always looking for ways to improve sweeping performance, simplify service, and deliver better results for our customers.”
The new pickup head features an updated air knife geometry and pickup tuning developed using computational analysis to improve first-pass pickup across mixed debris types. Elgin validated the design across a range of substrates, including sand, dirt, clay, and other common operating conditions, to ensure it performs in real-world applications.
The pickup head also incorporates RegenX-style serviceability features, including integrated washout ports, reversible dirt shoes, and easier access for faster cleaning and maintenance. The design is set to become the standard pickup head for both the RegenX and Crosswind platforms.
“We used customer input and computer-based testing to refine the design and improve productivity,” Baran said. “The goal was to maintain our commitment to build sweepers that maximize performance while being easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to maintain.”
