Help Us Make a Difference

This fall, 1-800-SWEEPER will once again unite its members and supporters for a cause that saves lives. From September 28 through October 27, the organization will conduct its national fundraising campaign benefiting K9s For Warriors.

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest veterans service organization providing highly trained service dogs to Veterans living with service-related trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and military sexual trauma. With approximately 20 Veterans dying by suicide each day, the need for these lifesaving programs remains urgent.

The goal of this year’s campaign is to raise $30,000—the cost of preparing one service dog for a Veteran in need. Each dog completes an extensive six-month training program that includes professional instruction, veterinary care, food, housing and specialized equipment. Once paired, the service dog helps the Veteran regain confidence, independence and a renewed sense of purpose.

The program often saves two lives at once. Many of the dogs selected by K9s For Warriors come from shelters, where they may otherwise face abandonment or euthanasia. Through training, these dogs are given a second chance and a meaningful mission: helping a Veteran move forward with dignity and hope.

The 1-800-SWEEPER community has already shown the remarkable impact we can make when we come together. Last year, our Members and Vendor Partners surpassed the $30,000 campaign goal, raising an incredible $33,324.76. Those generous contributions fully funded the care and training needed to prepare our service dog, Aardy, for a deserving Veteran. In recognition of raising the most money for the campaign, Carl Barton, owner of Aardvark Sweeping, earned the honor of naming our pup. Barton says, “K9s For Warriors is an incredible program that gives both Veterans and dogs a second chance at life. Each holds a special place in my heart, making this a cause I am truly honored and proud to support.”

Throughout the four-week campaign, 1-800-SWEEPER Members, Vendor Partners, employees, customers and friends will be encouraged to participate. There is no minimum contribution—every donation, regardless of size, moves the campaign closer to providing a Veteran with a trained companion and a pathway toward greater independence.

With 98% of donations going directly to K9s For Warriors, supporters can be confident that their generosity will have a meaningful impact. Contributions help provide the resources necessary to train each dog and pair it with the Veteran whose needs and personality are the best match.

Together, we can give a deserving dog a new purpose, give a Veteran renewed hope and once again demonstrate what is possible when an industry comes together to serve others.
